The Makita LS1016 is one of my favorite sliding miter saws yet

The Makita LS1016, is widely regarded as the king of it's class when it comes to crown molding cutters. However, even though it is known as the best among its kind, it's not a big miter saw. This Makita miter saw can be actually be represented by three simple words: versatile, compact, and powerful.

Pros of the Makita LS1016

Feature filled and a remarkable value altogether, the Makita LS 1016 got its reputation as the leading crown molding cutter of its category from being able to cut a crown molding crosswise up to 6-5/8" and up to 4-¾" vertically. Its patented 4-Steel Rail Sliding System makes smooth cuts very easily. The Makita LS 1016' linear ball bearings and transparent blade guard provides allows it to provide top notch accuracy.ComfortComfort is another great feature of the Makita LS1016. The ergonomcially designed handle is good for use with either the right or the left hand. The trigger is also oversized so that you will be able to squeeze it no matter how you position your hand on the handle.Adjustments are also part of the bells and whistles on the Makita LS1016, which allows for plenty of customization. Accurate adjustments are made capable by its one-touch miter lock. It also sports a large precision machined aluminum base supports. One easy step also allows for blades to be changed. For any of your cutting needs this tool has proven to be a very useful one and is well worth it's price. It's a great value. I guess though if I'm going to be picky, that it's weight makes it a little bit difficult to carry around. Although it's much lighter than many of the other saws in it's class. There are some though that say that when it comes to portability the Makita LS 1016 may not be that portable since it is heavy to lug around but compared to a miter saw that does the same job as the Makita LS 1016, this miter saw is small.It's definitely one of the best of the bunch and I highly recommend this saw.
